Hi Keven,
Black diamonds come in 2 versions: treated and untreated. My belief is that you can put heat on naturals (untreated). Treated come in two categories: black with poor color which are treated for enhancement ... and poor quality white which are made black because they have little value in their natural state. You have a better shot with the 1st category. Either way ... It is "extremely" difficult to solder treated blacks and the failure rate on 2nd category is rather high. Everyone has a different touch. Sometimes one can do what another can not. As to laser retouching ... I think you're safe here on all counts.

A Testimonial from: Martin and Shelley-Anne United Kingdom Our quest for our wedding bands seemed quite simple at first go to a Local jeweller, support local industry and get just what you wanted. It was not to be for it came with a price, one so extreme that we were forced to look elsewhere - across the pond to New York! This may seem peculiar but the price difference was remarkable as was the service. It was with hesitancy that I surfed the net on the hunt for the ideal rings. I have to profess I’m a little old school I suppose, not akin to virtual shopping for books let alone one of the most major investments of my life but as I only intend to Wed once we wanted the right rings to celebrate the event. Having a particular penchant for the Irish Claddagh ring ( I had one as a kid but lost it at school and never forgot the fact) we surfed and up popped Tyler-Adam Corp and the amazingly versatile and talented Benjamin Mark (I’m not just being flamboyant it is deserved praise). From January 2008 a succession of emails passed between ourselves, drawings, metal choice, diamonds, cost of course, the picture of our rings were building up (electronically of course).rnWith each email and image I was getting myself into quite lather as to the finished product. I hasten to add though a tad worried that Benjamin didn’t exist, that we would get to the day of collection (after travelling from England for the specific purpose) and find an address that didn’t exist. Call me sceptical but I am old school British, I like to see things in my hand and the prospect of purchasing ones wedding bands on the net was a little awesome to say the least. Throughout this experience Benjamin never failed to give us the right advice and I felt assured that what we asked for would be delivered. The day of delivery came (of course I had to endure a wretched Kuwait Airlines flight akin to the standards of Aeroflot in the eighties first). However at the back of my mind was that all good things come to those who wait and wait, waiting for the seat belt sign to go off and the bad toilet aroma and plastic food to disappear from the air. Waiting to get through customs....The journey was warmed by the additional fact that we could re-visit The Turkish and Russian Baths and sample a few museums at the same time, consume a few Guinness and generally be lazy for a few days free from work in our quest for the rings. I had also conjured up a picture of Benjamin in my minds eye during the exchange of emails and was really looking forward to meeting him in person. The day came; we informed Benjamin and arrived to collect the rings. I have to profess that I was really hoping that they would be all I had hoped for, a claddagh without its crown because we are plumbers and have a tendency to get our fingers caught in pipe, u-bends and other glorious areas associated with the profession. I am also a keen gardener and knew that if the ring was not sturdy I would crush it or loose it somewhere in the green jungle. Our exact requirements were platinum with a small diamond for eternal love (but not too BLING) a claddagh to celebrate the Irish bit of me (I hope) with the crown omitted so I didn’t get it stuck in a toilet or such like. We arrived at 42, West 48th Street, the day ...the summit. We opened the boxes and all was as we had hoped. In fact the rings surpassed our expectations and Benjamin was absolutely delightful. We invited him to our wedding but as we are a little longer than a taxi ride away it may be too far. He was very respectful of the rings and they were every thing we had hoped for and requested. Benjamin polished them after our inspection and we trotted off very chuffed indeed. He did a fabulous job and we would recommend his services to any one wishing to find the perfect Wedding band made to their exact requirements. Although we never intend to take them off our fingers once we are wed and treat them and each other respectfully for the rest of our lives I have a little confession to make. On our final day we went straight from the hotel (with its safe) to the sauna. Not wishing to leave them in a general safe we swung them around our neck and dashed into the sauna with them. We had visions of Benjamin with his polishing cloth looking in disdain at our treatment of them as we leapt into the plunge pool followed by further hot treatments (okay stepped in gingerly, enough of waxing lyrical). After such an afternoon the rings still looked gorgeous. We cannot thank Benjamin enough, every time we look at them we are reminded of his exceptional service and highly skilled hands and eye. Throughout he was also a thoroughly nice gentleman. It will be a delight and pleasure to marry the apple of my eye and it will be a delight and pleasure to wear rings that are so exceptional.
